Security Services: United States

This report forecasts to 2022 US security service revenues in nominal US dollars. Total revenues are segmented by type in terms of: guard, alarm monitoring, systems integration, cash-in-transit and related services, and other services such as security consulting and private investigations. Total revenues are also segmented by market as follows: commercial and industrial, residential, and government and institutional.

To illustrate historical trends, total revenues are provided in annual series from 2007 to 2017; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2007, 2012, and 2017.

Excluded from the scope of this report are: public safety personnel (e.g., police officers, public corrections officers, federal agents, and fire fighters); in-house, proprietary security services, such as guards, detectives, and off-duty police officers on the paid staff of (non-security) business establishments; equipment installation services (aside from systems integration); locksmith activities; security products distribution and sales; and private correctional facility management.
